HEY! WAIT A MINUTE! This conflicts heavily with your explanation for prosthetics! You said this occurred 300 years ago, and the dang mechanical thing still functions! There isn't really any way that a partial mechanical piece, and one far less complex, would be difficult to construct if this kind of marvel was possible.

Golden Folly is clearly machined, and as only Golden Star, his tower, and his work was incinerated, I am left to assume that the craftsponies would still be capable of constructing something as simple as a leg or a wing.
